employs one or more employees must register and make monthly contributions to the SOCSO for all employees in accordance with the Employee Welfare Act 1969. Since January 2016, there is RM 250 per year income tax exemption for contributions to the SOCSO. As of January 2019, all overseas employees are required to contribute to the SOCSO 8a Form (Borang 8A).<\/p><p>The employer and his employees must be registered with the SOCSO no later than 30 days after the Law becomes applicable in the industry. For instance, January contributions must be paid no later than February 15th. Interest for late payment of contributions SOCSO 8A will be charged at the rate of 6% per annum for each day of delay in payment of contributions. If the calculated interest for late payment is less than RM 5, then interest is calculated at the rate of RM 5 per month.<\/p><p>Employers can also make monthly payments to SOCSO through Internet banking. Employers will need to register with a bank. Employers will need to open an account with any of the banks listed above and register this SOCSO payment service by contacting the branch where the bank account was opened.
